About Artist

Gerald Shonkwiler

I am a retired Architect living in San Diego, California. I've been fortunate to parlay my compositional, scale, textural and lighting visual experiences from my Architectural designs into my photography pursuits. Luckily, those attributes have allowed my work to be published nationally and internationally along with several exhibitions in galleries in different states. As an afficionado of the great Renaissance polymath, Leonardo di Vinci, I try to follow his mantra of, "Sapere Vedere" that somewhat translates to, "To know how to see" when pursuing my photography.
