Stony Coral Tissue Loss Disease (SCTLD) poses a serious threat to certain hard corals in Bonaire. A dedicated coral restoration project uses coral cribs or nurseries to start various coral variations to meet the challenges. The porcelain stars in these crates will function as starters on the reef.
