About Artist

Carrie Culp

I am a Seattle and Massachusetts-based photographer with over forty years of experience behind the lens, working in both film and digital formats. I create contemplative photographic art that explores the quiet intersections of nature, wildlife, and the built environment. My journey began with an AA degree in film photography (Burlington County Community College). I went on to receive a master’s degree in landscape architecture (University of Pennsylvania), a background that continues to shape the way I see and compose my images. Additionally, my training as a FGASA Level 1 Safari Guide in South Africa (Eco-Training) has enriched my ability to anticipate and capture the intricate behaviors of wildlife—allowing me to be prepared for the decisive moment I envision. These two aspects of my education and practice have enhanced my interest in capturing the intersection of the built and natural worlds in photographs.
