Perspective I'm Alexander Seleznyov, an award-winning photographer with a background in software engineering. Photography began as a way to reconnect with the things that make life meaningful. It started after my divorce, in a dark time, when making space for the things I love became a way out. Hiking came first. The places it led to kept overwhelming me, and at first my phone was enough to capture them. Soon it wasn't, and that's how a real camera came into my life. Then came October 7th. Through endless rounds of military reserve duty, and long after them, the camera was what kept me sane. It has been with me through every turning point since, and it taught me to look closer, and to find beauty in places most people walk past. Craft I'm drawn to places that challenge the imagination: night skies, wild landscapes, dramatic weather and cities in strange light. Sometimes it means hours of waiting under the stars for light and atmosphere to line up, all for a few minutes that make it worth it. I've never been good at playing it safe. I've photographed in a minefield, climbed steep rocks in the rain, caught pneumonia chasing a thunderstorm, walked on thin ice, and stood on the edge of a cliff more times than I can count. And I never let reality spoil a good photo: post-processing is a big part of my work. Mission My path hasn't always been predictable, and that's what makes it mine. The goal now is simple and a little crazy: to visit every country in the world and catch the beauty of its hidden places. This site is the map of that journey. Every country lit up on the globe is one I've walked through with a camera, another chapter in a story that's still being written. The world is vast. There's always somewhere new to discover, another story to tell, and another reason to keep exploring.
