"I am Tran Duy Khanh, an artist known by the pseudonym "Dao So". My photographic journey began in mid-2024 with the DLA Photography Club, where I discovered a profound passion for documenting the cultural soul of Vietnam’s Northern Highlands. My work is a fusion of documentary truth and a 'painterly' aesthetic, seeking to preserve the dignity of ethnic communities amidst the pressures of a rapidly modernizing world.
In a short period, my storytelling has gained significant international and national recognition. Most notably, I was awarded 1st Place and the Gold Award in 'Cultures and Traditions' at the 2025 Art of Storytelling Contest (1839 Awards). My portfolio also includes an Honorable Mention for Abstract photography (1839 Awards), alongside multiple Nominee honors in Portraiture and Photojournalism at the Exposure One Awards.
In Vietnam, my dedication to cultural heritage was honored with 2nd Prize in the 'Lao Cai – Convergence of Northwest Colors' contest and a Consolation Prize in the national 'Happy Vietnam 2025' competition. Through my lens, I strive to honor the resilient spirit of my people, ensuring their traditions remain a living, breathing force for future generations."
