Biography – Sabrina Charehbili Sabrina Charehbili (b. 1992) is a Dutch–Moroccan photographer and curator based in Rotterdam. She was a finalist for the People Photo Award and the NNC Gallery Challenge, received the Brussels Special Mention Award in 2024, and was selected as an Editor’s Pick by LensCulture. In her photographic practice, Charehbili explores identity, cultural memory, and the relationship between human presence and landscape. Moving between staged composition and documentary observation, she positions photography as a critical and reflective medium within an international context. Artist Statement – Sabrina Charehbili My work focuses on the visual construction of identity within a transnational context. Drawing from my Dutch–Moroccan background, I examine how cultural memory, migration, and heritage manifest through image-making. Working at the intersection of staged photography and documentary observation, I investigate both constructed and existing realities. Landscape often functions as a carrier of collective and personal histories. Through careful attention to composition, light, and spatial tension, I create images that encourage reflection and allow space for multiple interpretations. I consider photography a research-based practice that enables new narratives within contemporary visual culture.
