In her works Eva Brunner depicts the various layers of reality and their underlying narrative structures – their disruptions and fragmentations. She is intrigued with the complexity of identity („Being Barbara“) and the intricacies of nature within a world of artificiality („No Escape from Paradise“). Her new project "Perchance to dream" is a fictional diary oscillating between dream and reality - between snapshots and elaborate stagings - in collaboration with her model and partner in life, science fiction author Bernhard Kempen. Swiss-born writer and photographer Eva studied Communications at the American College of Rome, Italy. After first jobs as a theatre photographer she started writing plays that were premiered in Rome. After winning a Writer’s Residency by the Berlin Senate she relocated to Berlin. From 2007-11 she was a masterclass student with Professor Arno Fischer at Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie Berlin. Workshops with Anders Petersen, Sven Marquardt, Wolfgang Zurborn & Tomasz Laczny followed. Her works have been shown in numerous Group and Solo Shows throughout Europe and in the United States.
