1962, IJsselstein (Utrecht) The Netherlands With earnings from my paper round I bought my first dslr camera, a Practica when I was 15 years old. At 17 I joined the local camera club and won an award for the best photo of the year, handprinted in my own darkroom. Being educated as a teacher, specialized in History, Art History andDrawing, I worked at primary and secondary schools for 15 years. I volunteered at a local youth center organizing events, concerts andgiving workshops photography and as scout leader for children with multiple disabilities. After winning two awards as amateur photographer in 1996 , I decided to start as a professional photographer in 1997, working full time as an artist and commercial photographer ever since. I I was the main photographer for all the photography of the construction of the Betuweroute (rail freight line between the Port ofRotterdam and Germany) for over 10 years. Founding partner of Daph ( Dutch Architectural Photographers) and member from 2005 - 2012 I have received awards for both my work as an artist as well as a commercial photographer. My photos have been published in numerous books and magazines. I teach photography in workshops and masterclasses for both photography and architecture students. Over the years I’ve been a jury member for several photography andarchitecture contests. As a human being and photographer, I am interested in therelationship between humans and their environment. How people relate to their environment.
