About Artist

Maria Ciampini

I am a photographer based in Ontario, with a passion for capturing the essence of nature, landscapes, and wildlife. My goal is to reveal the extraordinary within the ordinary. Each photograph is an invitation to pause, reflect, and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us daily. Whether it’s the delicate presence of a small bird or the vast expanse of a distant horizon, I aim to forge meaningful connections with the world around me. Through my lens, I seek to immerse viewers in the splendor of nature, encouraging them to find peace and inspiration in its intricate details. The raw, untouched beauty of landscapes and wildlife in their natural habitats is what deeply inspires me, and I strive to capture it in its most authentic form. As a fine art photographer, I aim to evoke emotion and spark introspection, prompting viewers to celebrate the timeless beauty of the natural world. For me, photography is more than just an art form; it’s a way to cherish life's fleeting moments—much like how relationships teach us to appreciate the smallest, most beautiful things in life. I invite you to join me on a visual journey through nature, where we can immerse ourselves in its tranquillity, serenity, and wonder. Exhibitions and Events: May 2024 – Present: Killarney Mountain Lodge My fine art photography, showcasing the breathtaking landscapes of Georgian Bay, is prominently displayed at Killarney Mountain Lodge, a full-service resort nestled in the heart of Ontario's wilderness. This unique destination offers a serene escape for those seeking both exploration and retreat. Experience the natural beauty of the region through my work at Killarney Mountain Lodge. November 7-21, 2024: Arts and Auction on the Avenue I participated in the Arts and Auction on the Avenue at the historic Heliconian Club in Yorkville, 35 Hazelton Ave, Toronto. The event supported two student scholarship funds through the sale of fine art photography, raising funds for the George Brown Retirees' Association. July 19 – August 3, 2024: Gallery 44 - Centre for Contemporary Photography As part of Gallery 44’s annual exhibition, each contributing member selected a photograph that reflects their work over the past year. The collection represents a diverse array of observations, themes, and inspirations, collectively offering insights into the past and glimpses of what may come. August 2024: Ojibway Club Art Show I showcased my artwork at the Ojibway Club Art Show, held on Ojibway Island in the Archipelago of Pointe au Baril, Georgian Bay. The exhibition took place from August 8th to 11th in a hybrid format, combining an in-person show at the Ojibway Club with an online gallery. For more information, visit the Ojibway Club Art Show website, or contact Wendy Bunston and Kara McIntosh, Co-Chairs of the show. May 2024: Contact Photography Festival - Spirit of Earth My fine art photography was featured in a small group exhibition as part of the 2024 Contact Photography Festival. The exhibition, which ran from May 23rd to 31st at the YMCA at 907 Kingston Road in Toronto's east-end Beaches community, explored themes of nature and the environment. For inquiries, contact Jane Kidner at [email protected]. 2023: Exhibited in "Blue" at Gallery 44: Centre for Contemporary Photography. Participated in the Arts and Auction on the Avenue at Heliconian Hall, raising funds for student scholarships. 2022: Featured in the Scotiabank Contact Photography Festival group exhibition "Forest Spaces" at Kidner Gallery. Showcased work in "Dynamic Earth" at Kidner Gallery. Exhibited in "Transit" at Gallery 44: Centre for Contemporary Photography. Featured in "Fragmented" at Kidner Gallery.
