About Artist

Ana Paula Avila

Ana Paula Ávila Tinajero is a Mexican photographer based in Mexico City. Deeply passionate about photography from an early age, her work reflects a personal and intuitive vision shaped by her travels around the world. Her images explore the emotional and visual language of light, color, and movement, capturing fleeting moments where time appears suspended. Through her lens, she seeks to reveal the subtle beauty and mystery of everyday life, often finding meaning in forms, textures, and the quiet details that define a scene. Ávila studied photography at Urquiza Photographers Studio (2010–2015) and has continued her artistic development through workshops with renowned photographers such as Marco Alar, Brenda Islas, Sebastián Belaustegui, and Carlos Chiquini, who remains an important mentor in her practice. Her photographic journey has taken her across Mexico, the United States, India, Alaska, Iceland, Peru, Bolivia, Africa, and Europe, where she has participated in international workshops and developed a body of work influenced by diverse landscapes and cultures. Her work has been exhibited both individually and collectively, including a solo exhibition in Mexico City (2015), the project FUSION in Puebla (2021) in collaboration with Colombian artist Ximena Girado, and international exhibitions in Venice (2021), Rome and London (2022), and Paris at the Carrousel du Louvre (2024). Her photographs have also been featured in publications such as Riqueza Natural de México and are part of private collections in homes, offices, and hotels. Ávila’s work continues to evolve through an exploration of perception, stillness, and movement, inviting the viewer to pause and experience the world through a more attentive and contemplative gaze.
