About Artist
Charlie Davis
Born and raised on a farm in Kenya, Charlie grew up outdoors, free to roam and surrounded by the country's wildlife. After a career in hospitality, including four years in the Masai Mara, where he regularly spent time with wildlife photographer Jonathan Scott, his path in photography was set. In 1997 he became a safari guide, and over the years his guiding has become increasingly photography-led, with a focus on capturing the right combination of wildlife and human moments that clients treasure as lasting memories. After moving to the UK, he began shooting with professional equipment and turned to landscapes, chasing the Northern Lights in Iceland, battling the challenging conditions. A trip to India in 2018 changed his photography. Drawn to the colour, the numbers and the sheer scale of the country, he expanded his portfolio to include street scenes, people and documentary style photojournalism. Today he is the founder of Charles Davis Travel, where as Travel Designer he creates bespoke journeys from first idea to final detail. His passion as a photographer and traveller share one goal: an experience that feels effortless for the people in it, and images that hold on to it.
