Black-browed Albatross

The Black-browed albatross spends most of its life soaring across the ocean, returning annually to the same breeding site to raise a chick. Their courtship involves mutual preening, tail-fanning, and bill-clacking when they reunite. With lifespans over 70 years, they form lifelong bonds.

About Artist

Barbara Fleming

Barbara Fleming is a wildlife photographer based in Colorado. For the past 20 years, she has worked as a full-time photographer. Much of her work has taken place in Africa, particularly in the Serengeti region. Recently, she has shifted her focus to locating areas that provide opportunities to photograph endangered species. She combines her undergraduate studies in anthropology, primatology, and psychology with her extensive field experience to understand and capture wildlife and its complex behaviors. She aims to visually share her experiences with those who may not have the chance to observe animal behaviors, both humorous and serious. Barbara’s images have won awards in numerous national and international competitions. Many of these award-winning images have also been featured in gallery or museum exhibitions in the countries where the awards were received.
