Bokeh effect
This work repositions the bokeh effect—moving it from the background to the foreground—and transforms the typical soft background blur into an agent of change. This shift symbolizes an introvert's emergence: stepping into focus, revealing new visibility, quiet strength, and self-possession.
About Artist
Trina O’Hara
I am a highly trained artist whose creative production revolves around classical figurative painting and the teaching techniques found in the 19th Century European academies. I was born in Australia in 1973 and have been painting and photographing since my teens. I attended the Gifted and Talented Program (Visual Arts) at Kalamunda Senior High School in Western Australia. In my final year I received a Certificate of Excellence. I later returned to the school as an art teacher in the program. I have a BA with Honours in Fine Arts from Edith Cowan University, Australia, with a good portion of my program dedicated to figure drawing from the life model. I studied in the stage and set design/art program at the University of Maine, USA. I also won a scholarship to join artist and Australian of the Year, Arthur Boyd in his studio. I have a Masters in Contemporary Art from Sotheby’s Institute in London. I have lived, studied or worked in the Arts in Australia, USA, China, Japan, Hong Kong, UK and Italy.
