Ernő Rubik – The Inventor
In 2024, the world celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Rubik’s Cube. A portrait of Ernő Rubik, the 80-year-old inventor, was created in Hungary for the “50 Years of Twists and Turns” event, organized in Vienna by Collegium Hungaricum Wien and the Museum of Applied Arts (MAK).
About Artist
Attila Kovács
After studying in Tiszaújváros and later in Eger, I worked as a cultural center director and journalist in the Danube Bend, in Szigetmonostor, between 2004 and 2020. From 2014, I began exploring photography as a hobby, later transitioning into freelance work, which eventually brought me to Vienna in 2020. Without cutting ties to Hungary, "I am living between two worlds,” earning my living primarily as a photographer and organizer of artistic forums and creative events.
