Flying dachshund
A dachshund leaps effortlessly through an agility hoop, suspended in mid-air with all four paws off the ground. His alert gaze and joyful expression transform a demanding agility exercise into a playful and captivating moment.
About Artist
Jörg Asmus
My name is Jörg Asmus, and photography has become far more than a hobby for me – it is a way of seeing and understanding the world around me. I am particularly fascinated by wildlife, nature and people, and by those fleeting moments in which a familiar scene suddenly tells a story of its own. I enjoy observing rather than simply documenting: waiting for the right moment, looking for unusual perspectives and trying to capture emotions, interactions and small details that might otherwise go unnoticed. For me, a successful photograph does not necessarily have to be spectacular. What matters most is that it makes the viewer stop for a moment, look again and perhaps discover something beyond what is immediately obvious. I am especially drawn to images that combine strong composition with a sense of atmosphere, spontaneity or visual storytelling. Photography has taught me to be patient, curious and attentive. It has also encouraged me to keep experimenting – with different subjects, perspectives, light and ways of presenting a scene. Participating in international photography competitions and awards is part of that journey. I value them not only as recognition, but also as an opportunity to challenge myself, to see my work through the eyes of others and to continually develop as a photographer. Above all, photography gives me the opportunity to preserve moments that can never be repeated. That is what continues to inspire me every time I pick up my camera.
