Inherited Presence
inherited Presence reflects on how cultural memory inhabits both body and landscape. Suspended between stillness and motion, gesture and fabric hold traces of identity, revealing tradition as a living force—quietly shifting and unfolding within contemporary space.

Artist Statement – Sabrina Charehbili My work focuses on the visual construction of identity within a transnational context. Drawing from my Dutch–Moroccan background, I examine how cultural memory, migration, and heritage manifest through image-making. Working at the intersection of staged photography and documentary observation, I investigate both constructed and existing realities. Landscape often functions as a carrier of collective and personal histories. Through careful attention to composition, light, and spatial tension, I create images that encourage reflection and allow space for multiple interpretations. I consider photography a research-based practice that enables new narratives within contemporary visual culture.
