Last portrait of a fly
A split second between life and death. The extraordinary precision of a swallow hunting in full flight, captured at the very moment before its prey disappears.
About Artist
Kristian Jørgensen
I’m Kristian Jørgensen, a Norwegian photographer based in Tysvær on the west coast of Norway. My photography is driven by a fascination with moments that exist for only a fraction of a second. A bird cutting through the air, the intensity of competition, an expression between people, or the instant when something unexpected happens. I photograph wildlife, sports, motorsport, events and people. Although the subjects vary, I’m always searching for the same qualities: authenticity, emotion, movement and moments that cannot simply be recreated. Photography became an increasingly important part of my life after an unexpected change forced me to leave my previous career behind. It gave me a new direction and a way to channel my creativity, curiosity and determination into something meaningful. I’m particularly drawn to wildlife photography because of its unpredictability. You can prepare, study behaviour and wait for hours, but ultimately nature decides what happens in front of the camera. Sometimes everything comes together for a fraction of a second. Those are the moments I photograph for.
