Living His Best Life
About Artist
Joanna Jones
My journey into photography began with love and loss. After losing my beloved Westie quite suddenly, I was heartbroken to realise that I had no meaningful photographs of him — only a handful of blurry mobile snaps that weren’t good enough to print or display at home. That moment stayed with me. When my Cavapoo came along, I bought a proper camera with the simple intention of capturing him beautifully and preserving those memories. What began as a deeply personal project soon turned into something more. I started sharing my photos with family and friends, and to my surprise, they saw something in them that I hadn’t fully appreciated myself — that I had an eye for this. Good enough, perhaps, to turn it into a career. Over the last two years, I’ve been growing my pet photography business. It’s still early days and very much a work in progress, but what drives me is the emotional connection my clients feel when they see their finished portraits. The moment their pet’s eyes meet theirs from the frame — the laughter, the gasps, sometimes even tears of joy — I know I’m doing something that matters.
