Elizabeth (Grace) Karambelas is a gourmet food and street photographer with a formal background in fashion design, photography, and culinary arts. Having worked in Dublin, London, and New York as a fashion designer, she transitioned into photography, driven by a passion for visual storytelling. Growing up in rural Ireland, her mother’s appreciation for local traditions, cuisine, and art deeply shaped her creative approach. Her food photography highlights raw ingredients through her Pre-cuisine series, inspired by Irving Penn, Hans Gissinger, and Dutch painters. She explores light, texture, and imperfections, capturing food in its unrefined state before reaching the plate. Beyond food, Grace embraces candid street photography, documenting authentic moments and street portraits that tell compelling human stories. She frames life’s fleeting expressions and interactions, merging documentary-style realism with an artistic vision. Since 2022, Grace has worked as a freelance photographer, earning recognition through awards like the 2024 James Del Guidice Scholarship and RIT Photography Competition. Currently studying Photography Technology at County College of Morris, she aims to expand her brand, collaborate with luxury food clients, and mentor emerging photographers, continuing to push creative boundaries in both food and street photography.
