Red silence
Walking through the alleys of Rione Terra, I was struck by this vibrant red that felt like a painting. I waited for the light to cut through the wall and for a man passing by to enter the frame, seeking to turn architecture into a moment of pure emotion and silence.
About Artist
Gian Paolo Russo
Born in Naples in 1974, I am a photographer shaped by years of living abroad and a lifelong habit of observation. My lens is a tool for emotional discovery, focused on my hometown—a place I find deeply "exciting." I am drawn to the vibrant pulse of Neapolitan life, yet I constantly seek its quieter, invisible layers. My work explores the tension between surface energy and hidden silences, capturing the raw, authentic soul of the everyday. For me, photography is more than an image; it is a way to rediscover the beauty tucked away in the shadows of the ordinary.
