Originally from Bucks County, Pennsylvania, I’ve always had an intrinsic love for nature, wildlife, and photography. I grew up skiing, hiking, and exploring the mountains of Montana and North Carolina, which are experiences that inspired my passion for the outdoors and protecting the wildlife communities that depend on these majestic landscapes. Now living in Westhampton, New York, I’ve discovered a profound connection to the ocean, beaches and waterways on the East End of Long Island. After receiving an undergraduate degree in environmental science, I worked for a public relations company in New York City. I then went on to earn a master’s degree in ecology and environmental biology from Columbia University to study how carnivores were responding to urban development. More recently, I led the endangered shorebird program for the Town of East Hampton, and am now working as an offshore wind scientist to help reduce impacts of renewable energy on birds, bats, and marine mammals. Through these diverse educational and professional experiences, I’ve learned the value of scientific storytelling to impactfully share the beauty and importance of nature and wildlife with others. As a recently certified drone pilot, my passion is to use aerial photography to capture the ethereal and captivating landscapes across the East End (and beyond) to showcase the spiritual essence of Gaia, our planet earth.
