Snake
Sweating on a cracked up ferry ramp, waiting for passage across the Mekong to Kaoh Trong, when three grinning boys strolled up—rods in one hand, a writhing snake in the other. “Not venomous,” they said. I nodded, smiled, and took two careful steps back. I'd let the river gods sort that one out.
