Symmetry of Silence
A minimalist study of the white dunes at Lençóis Maranhenses. This high-key, pale composition focuses on the clean lines where sand meets still water. Reducing the palette to cream, white and silver, the image distills the natural world to its simplest geometry: curve, texture, and calm.
About Artist
Ali Mouizina
I'm a photographer based in Antibes, in the south of France. I shoot landscapes. What pulls me in is the pursuit of rare light: the kind that lasts only a few minutes, that requires waking up early, hiking in the dark, and waiting in the cold with no guarantee of anything. That effort is part of the process for me. A photo that cost nothing to take means less. I'm drawn to mountains and isolated places. I've always been more comfortable in quiet, empty spaces than in crowds. Photography gives me a reason to go further into them. I edit my photos carefully. Post-processing is a creative step for me, I use it to build the image I had in mind when I pressed the shutter. If the final result goes beyond what the camera captured, that's fine, as long as it stays true to what I felt and envisioned in that moment. What I want, when someone looks at my work, is for them to feel something. Not just to see a pretty place, but to sense the stillness, the light, and maybe want to be there too.
