The blue of separation
In Japan, plates collide and cause earthquakes, but in Silfra they simply drift apart. The clear water and deep blue fissure mirror the Earth’s quiet passage of time. Continents once joined are forever divided, not by will, but by nature’s rhythm. This blue is the color of separation itself.

Akiko TSUCHIYA
Born in Gunma, Japan. Graduated from Kyoto University of Art and Design, Correspondence Course, Department of Fine Arts, Photography Course in 2019. I work as an in-house designer at an import trading company dealing with food products, where I am involved in all aspects of visual communication, from product photography to branding. Since 2025, I have been working as a freelance photographer and designer.
