The Broom at Rialto
An empty arcade, a forgotten broom, and the Rialto Bridge waiting for the day to begin. Framed through the arches, this early-morning scene holds the quiet moment between Venice asleep and Venice awake.
About Artist
Josello Arends
I am a fine art landscape and cityscape photographer from Aruba, inspired by the timeless beauty of the natural and urban world. Through my photography, I capture everything from Aruba's vibrant coastlines, sweeping landscapes, golden sunrises, and dramatic sunsets to the historic streets and architectural elegance of Europe's iconic cities. My work is characterized by dramatic light, evocative reflections, and a passion for creating images that invite viewers to pause, reflect, and connect with a place. Living on the beautiful island of Aruba, I find endless inspiration in its ever-changing light, vivid colors, and peaceful atmosphere. These elements continue to shape my artistic vision and approach. Photography was not always my passion. Like many beginners, I relied entirely on my camera's automatic mode, believing it would do all the work for me. That changed in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. With more time to explore and learn, I picked up my camera with a new sense of curiosity. What began as a way to pass the time quickly became a creative journey. As I learned to master light, composition, and the technical side of photography, I discovered that creating meaningful images is about far more than pressing the shutter—it's about seeing the world differently. Today, every photograph I create reflects that journey, capturing not only the beauty of a place but also the emotion, atmosphere, and stories that make each scene unforgettable.
