The female figure in opera
The female figure in opera is often linked to a role left on the margins of a predominantly male society and characterized by very strong feelings. These are troubled heroines, who face suffering with courage and have to fight against a patriarchal model. They mirror the society that was and is.
About Artist
Alessia Santambrogio
I am a professional stage photographer and photographic-editorial archivist, I owe my artistic and professional training to the Accademia Teatro alla Scala in Milan. I collaborate with various opera and drama organizations on the Italian scene, for which I have documented important productions and events. My stage photography is mainly based on the constant search for a close and delicate relationship between the bodies of the performers, the stage space in which they move and color.
