The Tales of Salt Lake
I take these photographs to draw attention to the climate crisis. As Ursula LE Guin said; the Earth does not belong to us - we belong to the Earth
About Artist
Ayşegül Özyürek
I studied economics. For the past twenty years, I have been closely following the arts. I am the co-founder of an independent, non-profit cultural and art platform. Within this platform, I give seminars on literature. In recent years, I have turned to photography as a different language of expression. I take photographs especially to draw attention to nature destroyed by human hands. I photographed the drying Salt Lake (Tuz Gölü) and the flamingos that have lived there for hundreds of years, and I turned this work into a digital book. Most recently, my book was featured in The Eye of Photography. The two photographs I am sending you belong to this project. With my warm regards, Ayşegül Dalokay Özyürek
