My name is Sveta Butko, and I am a fine art child and family photographer based in USA. My journey into photography began in 2016, when I left my professional career as an architect to pursue a growing passion behind the lens. Though self-taught as a photographer, my background includes a PhD in Visual Arts (Architecture), which has deeply shaped my approach to composition, light, and visual storytelling. What began as a personal exploration quickly drew international attention. Soon after I transitioned into photography, my images began circulating on international platforms, and I was invited to photograph portraits across the world. My portraits marked by softness, fragility, and emotional depth - resonated widely and opened doors to speak at conferences, judge international competitions, and lead over 60 workshops around he world. My former students have since gone on to win photography awards of their own, which remains one of the most fulfilling parts of my career. My photography has been exhibited internationally, including at the Art Thessaloniki International Contemporary Art Fair (Greece, 2016), Chagall House in Haifa (2023). My work has been published in Vogue Italia, Canon Russia, Lens Magazine, and Art Market Magazine, and has appeared on book covers by bestselling authors. In recent years, my photography won 1st place in the People: Children category of ND Awards 2023 and 1st Place in Child Portrait Category of 35AWARDS 2024. I was honored to be ranked among the Top 10 Fine Art Photographers in the World (#4) and Top 10 Portrait Photographers (#9) by One Eyeland in 2024, and won Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards in WPE 2024 Annual Competition in the Children category. I’ve also been privileged to serve as a judge for prestigious contests such as Magic Lens Awards, 35AWARDS, and others. Alongside my professional work, I remain committed to giving back - organizing charitable photography forums and participating in awareness projects for children with special needs and rare diseases. For me, photography is more than art, it is a bridge between the fleeting and the eternal. I aim to capture the delicate in-between moments - the soft vulnerability of a child’s glance, the intangible poetry of growing up. I continue to explore these themes with an open heart, always searching for light, connection, and the quiet beauty of what may soon disappear.
