Bio
Claire’s interest in photography began early, developing black and white film in the kitchen. When she married Adrian they had a mutual interest in bees. Adrian passed his skills in macro insect photography to Claire who became fascinated by the detail this revealed. She caught the travel bug and has since visited all seven continents, primarily to photograph wildlife, although her photographic interests extend to other genres such as landscape and architecture. Her wildlife images range from plankton to polar bears, with Tasmanian devils and painted wolves in between. She has been privileged to see Emperor penguins in Antarctica. Claire has won several competitions including the Galapagos Photo competition in 2023. The same year, her image of a Celebes black macaque in Indonesia was chosen as one of the 25 images in the People’s Choice of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition and her image of a stag in Kanha National Park was included in People’s Choice for Travel Photographer of the Year. She continues to travel while she is able and hopes that her images will inspire others with a love for the natural world and a determination to do everything possible to preserve and conserve it.
