Bio
Garrett Mogel is a versatile photographer, recognized for his goal-oriented approach and narrative-driven compositions. Starting as a landscape photographer in the Rocky Mountains, Garrett often found himself traversing rough terrain and contorting into awkward positions to get the shot. Wondering how he could portray the adventure behind the photos, Garrett sought out ways to incorporate a story into his photographs. This foundational goal motivated him to hone his technical skills and develop a philosophy of fostering conversation through his photographs. Building upon his philosophy, Garrett is currently pursuing a major in Journalism and Media Communication at Colorado State University. While in college, Garrett works as the Photo Director at the Rocky Mountain Collegian Newspaper where he further develops his visual narratives and works to forge deeper conversations. In his pursuit of deeper conversations, Garrett often immerses himself in long-form stories, embedding with organizations such as the Larimer County Search and Rescue Team and the Fort Collins Police Services SWAT team. Through these stories, Garrett built a versatile skill set allowing him to be adaptable and push the boundaries of visual storytelling.
