Bio

Jana is a Czech photojournalist and anthropologist currently based in San Francisco. She specializes in social documentary and environmental portraiture. Her storytelling puts a human face on issues through the portrayal of emotions, intimate moments, and candid interpersonal interactions. Jana has led photography and storytelling workshops for National Geographic Student Expeditions in various parts of the world. She is a member of the Screening Committee for the International Ocean Film Festival. Awards: World Press Photo, National Geographic Photo Contest, China Press Photo, Czech Press Photo.
