Bio

Jo Ann Chaus is an American artist from and based in the New York metro area. With a great curiosity and interest in the psychological, her self portraits, landscapes and still lifes, explore the emotional qualities of being a human, enriched by the many roles she assumes as a woman. Seeking to understand herself and her intergenerational inheritances she uses dramatic color and everyday instances, to create and document her process of being, growing and becoming.
