Bio

Behind the Lens I have always been drawn to beauty—not simply how something looks, but how it makes me feel. For me, few things compare with being immersed in nature. Standing beneath an immense sky, watching wildlife move through its world, listening to water or wind, or simply being in the presence of a horse has a way of quieting everything else. Nature grounds me. It restores my sense of wonder and reminds me to be fully present. Photography became my way of holding onto those moments. My journey with a camera began more than three decades ago, initially as a casual pursuit. After retiring from a career in marketing and advertising, my background in graphic design and years spent working alongside photographers and other creatives helped rekindle that interest and transform it into something much more meaningful. Today, my photography is centered primarily on horses, wildlife and the natural world. Although nature is where I feel most at home, curiosity sometimes takes my photography elsewhere—from aviation to people and other subjects that catch my eye. Whatever the subject, the impulse is much the same. To notice. To feel. To connect. Drawn to the Wild Travel has taken me from the deserts and mountains of the American West to Africa and the remote reaches of the Southern Ocean. Wherever I am, I am drawn to the moments that make me stop and simply take it all in. Sometimes that means standing among thousands of King Penguins on South Georgia Island. Sometimes it is watching an animal emerge from the African landscape, photographing wild horses on an open hillside, or witnessing light transform an otherwise quiet landscape. Those experiences continually remind me that the most memorable photographs aren't always the grandest moments. Often, they're the quiet ones—the fleeting gesture, unexpected light, subtle connection or brief instant when everything seems to come together. Photography encourages me to notice those moments.
