Bio

Liz Obert is a lens-based artist and a recovering academic. After 18 years as an art professor, she was honored with the title of Professor Emeritus by Linfield University. Originally from New Orleans, Liz now calls Portland, Oregon, her home. She draws on her BFA from the College of Santa Fe and her MFA from Washington State University to create her fine art photography. Her work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally, with shows in Spain, France, and Hungary. She was honored with the Juliet Cameron Award for cityscapes and the Pollux award for the fine art category, and her pieces have been featured in prestigious venues like Blue Sky Gallery's Pacific NW Viewing Drawers and Cite: Brooklyn. Recently, she has been shortlisted for the Soho Gallery Portfolio competition. Liz has participated in artist residencies in Portugal, France, and Hungary. Her work has been published in outlets including The Missouri Review, Slate, The Huffington Post, and others.
