Silvia Vaculíková Born on July 22nd, 1967 in Trnava as the great-granddaughter of the inventor of the parachute, Štefan Banic, and the granddaughter of the discoverer of the Driny cave in Smolenice. After finishing her studies, she worked in a travel agency, and subsequently founded her own TA focusing on discovering exotic countries. She lives and works in Bratislava. She has traveled through five continents visiting 122 countries. On her travels, she focuses mainly on observing local people, their traditions, history and capturing the disappearing world with her camera. She has published two photography publications – Svet ľudí, Zvyky and three travelogues – Túlanie svetom, Svet na dlani and Nevšedným svetom. She publishes in various magazines. Her photographs have been exhibited in dozens of countries around the world, many of which have been awarded. In 2009, she received the title EFIAP – Excellence de la Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique (Excellence of the International Federation of Photographic Art) in Belgium, and in 2018 she was awarded the title MZSF – Master of the Slovak Photographers Association.
