Bio

Takamasa Honda was born in Hiroshima, Japan in 1977. After graduating from university in 1999, he entered Bunka Fashion College to study the basics of dressmaking where he graduated in 2000. He continued to make clothes by himself and founded his original fashion brand "BANANA" in 2003. He needed photos for his website and print production to advertise his work, but after being unsatisfied with the photographer he hired and with a recommendation from a friend, he began to explore the world of photography. Since 2004, he has been exploring various photographic styles, but mainly fashion, surrealism, and nature. He started taking photos with the world in mind after commended the Sony World Photography Awards. He now combines multiple genres and techniques to eliminate the line between art and fashion, but he is particularly interested in the "humorous and strangeness" embedded in the beauty of color schemes. His photographic work is always self-directed, so he does everything from the costume design, dyeing, directing, and shooting himself.
