About Artist

Cristina Fontsare

Photographer and visual artist born in Barcelona. She study Fine Arts in her home city and lived several years in London and Paris. Her beginnings in art were through Sculpture, however it was not until she started a masters degree in Landscape Architecture that she discovered photography in her early thirties. Since then, she has been devoted to the medium, working in long term projects concerning universal themes such as the cycles of life, metamorphosis, youth, fragility and vulnerability. She works with peel apart polaroid film allowing the process to be organic. Psychology and the relationship she establishes with her long term collaborators are key in her life and practice. Her work has been published, exhibited and awarded internationally. She is now based in Barcelona.
