Bio

Alessa Widmer is an art historian and curator based in Zurich, Switzerland. She currently writing her dissertation on the international distribution of Swiss photography by Rosellina Burri-Bischof (1925–1986) at the University of Zurich. In addition to her academic work, she has realized various photography exhibitions in museums, galleries and off-spaces. Her recent projects include the exhibitions "Living for Photograph" at Fotostiftung Schweiz and "Our Town" at Espace MVG, Paris. In 2023 and 2024 she was Artistic Director of the art fair photo basel.
