Bio

Joslin Van Arsdale is an independent Photographs consultant and served as an Associate Vice President, Specialist in the Photographs department from 2021-2023. Joslin joined Christie’s as a Specialist in New York in the Spring of 2020. She started her career as a Gallery Director at photo-eye gallery in 2003 and has 20 years of auction, consulting and gallery experience in post-war and contemporary photography. She specializes in discovering new talent and working with emerging and established photographers. Prior to joining Christies, Joslin served as Head of Photographs for Paddle8 online auction house. She holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Photography from University of Colorado, Boulder and a Master’s Degree in Textiles from Goldsmith’s, University of London. She has successfully completed training in the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice from the Appraisers Association of America and regularly attends international art fairs including Paris Photo, AIPAD, Frieze and Art Basel.
