Artist Statement/Bio Erika Masterson Erika’s photography unveils the tension between the known and unknown, capturing moments of beauty and revelation through the blending of human and natural elements. Her images reveal a story of our human nature combined with aspects of the spiritual that stir the soul into deeper purpose. Erika Masterson is a Fine Art Photographer, living her dream between two worlds, a lakeside cabin tucked in the Southern Appalachian mountains and a quiet beach town on Florida’s east coast. Erika and her husband Ed have 4 children and one granddaughter. Her children are often seen in her artistic works. After receiving her degree in photography from the Southeastern Center for Photographic Studies in Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1990, she worked as a commercial portrait photographer for the past 25 years in California and Florida. In recent years, Erika has expanded her Art, including many exhibits and awards. Amongst her many accomplishments, her quiet and soulful images have been published in numerous magazines such as Black and White Magazine 2014 & 2017, Victoria Magazine 2000 & 2016, Bella Grace Magazine, Raine, Shadow & Light, Silvershotz Magazine, Shots Magazine, 5x5 Magazine, and In-Style Magazine. In 2019, she won a solo Exhibition in Soho, NY for her series “Tangled up in beauty”. Erika recently has images being sold around the world on greeting cards with Palm Press.
