About Artist
Magdalena Zachara Darmosz
I am a self-taught photographer and visual artist. Photography began for me as a way of looking at the world, but over time it became much more than that. My camera has been a quiet companion through difficult periods of my life — a way to stay present, to focus, and sometimes simply to get through a day. In that sense, photography has become a kind of therapy and support, helping me find beauty and meaning even when I could not see much of it elsewhere. I am drawn to details, textures, light and moments that might easily be overlooked. I often photograph ordinary things and try to look beyond what is immediately visible — finding new forms, stories or emotions in them. I want my photography to change the way people look at beauty and encourage them to search for it in everyday life. For me, photography is both observation and meditation. I believe this meditation does not have to end when the photograph is made. I want my images to give something more than an image — to make the viewer pause, look longer, notice something they might otherwise miss, and perhaps experience their own moment of stillness and reflection.
