Lonely Planet, 2026
For me photography is about capturing what is moving, fleeting, & felt. Working with a fusion of ICM & long exposure, transforms the view outside my NYC windows into something almost dreamlike. Lonely Planet is one of my favorites. Lost or arrived, depends on who is looking.
About Artist
Nash Mithani
For Nash Mithani (NASHMITH), photography is not about capturing what is still, but what is moving, fleeting, and felt. Working with a fusion of Intentional Camera Movement and long exposure, she transforms NYC into something almost dreamlike. Driven to experimentation, capturing painterly photographs full of movement, where the city dissolves into abstracts, and moments stretch into memory. Her work, ChasingLight, was born during the isolation of the pandemic, when looking out the window became a way of seeing the world differently. Since then, her practice has continued to evolve. Today, encompassing two distinct studies, single in-camera, unrepeatable exposures, and others that are compressed multiple exposures and labour intensive, manual digital modification. NASHMITH creates statement pieces meant to be lived with; offered as limited edition, archival print under gallery acrylic. The art box presentation amplifies her evocative mix of deep shadows and vibrant streaks; the camera sweep, like a gestural brushstroke, is the hallmark of her images. There is an energy in the work. Movement, emotion, and connection all held within light. Inducted Signature Member of the National Association of Women Artists in 2025, her work has been presented at exhibitions and major art events including ArtExpo New York.
