Kristina Ishutina is a fine-art photographer based in Abu Dhabi, UAE, whose practice explores the relationship between the human body, landscape, light, texture, and memory. Her work is rooted in an interest in the space between what is revealed and what remains hidden. Rather than documenting a subject literally, she seeks to photograph the sensation of inhabiting it. Through movement, abstraction, shadow, fabric, and tactile surfaces, she explores fragility, transformation, intimacy, and the traces left by experience. Her images often emerge through an intuitive process of experimentation, allowing light and movement to become active elements in the construction of an image. Across monochromatic and colour work, the author is drawn to ambiguity and the emotional potential of the imperfect or partially concealed.
